I learned many lessons from my father while growing up in the small Southern Illinois town of Cairo. One of the things he said a long time ago that still resonates with me today is “sometimes in life, you have to do things you don’t want to do”. God knows our POTENTIAL. He knows the plans He has for us (reference Jeremiah 29:11). He knows exactly what we need to face in life if we are to grow into the people who will truly make a difference in our world.
Growth causes change, and change can be uncomfortable. But when you find yourself not wanting to do something that will PROBABLY serve to help you become a better person, dig deep inside and grab some of the strength you’ve been given by God. It is this deep inner strength, this God-breathed strength, that will allow you to be sustained and to receive peace-of-mind about whatever it is you don’t want to do.
So walking as a Christian daily means choosing the hard “right” over the easy “wrong”. Do this, and I believe all will be well with you!

That was beautiful. God knows all of his children and will not more on us than we can bear. God knows all of our potentials and trials come not to hurt us, but make us stonger, so we can withstand the wiles of the devil. We have to take the bitter with the sweet to be strong.
Amen Missy. The “bitter with the sweet” is how we strike the right balance. Thanks for your comment!
