“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” ~ Edmund Burke

No one knows just how big of an impact their actions, or lack thereof, can have on the lives of others. The moral, ethical, and legal failures we’ve seen in some of our nation’s most celebrated and respected institutions illustrate this point. Regrettably, I doubt that we have seen the last of moral failures from those entrusted with wide ranges of influence, and I can’t help but ponder a universally relevant question: Does doing the right thing have an expiration date? Or rather, is there a time limit on making something right?

All too often in our world, we continually see the “expiration date” on doing the right thing coinciding with the date someone’s “indiscretions” are discovered and/or made public. Did I say that right?…

Let me get to the point: If you have done something wrong, please make it right. Point out your own sins to God, and ask His forgiveness. The alternative is that your sins will find you, point you out, and publicly embarrass you AT MINIMUM. And depending on the severity of the sin(s), much harsher consequences could be rendered (not going to start naming them). Each of us knows it doesn’t have to be this way.

I cannot rightfully call myself a believer, a man of faith, a follower of Christ, a leader, or anything pertaining to righteousness, if I see wrong and don’t say anything about the sin plaguing our communities. Jesus loves both you and me, and He died so that we all would have an opportunity to be free from the system of sin and death. So let’s decide NOW to live a life of freedom. We can start today!

“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17 NKJV)

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16 NIV)

God bless you!
