God does not tolerate evil. In this tolerant age, when people do not like to draw sharp lines between right and wrong, God speaks plainly. He tells us that “all wrongdoing is sin” (1 John 5:17). Every sin, from personal sins to natural sins, whether greed or oppression, or disobedience, is an offense to God. If we wish to live forever with God, we must be pure and holy as He is.
God will not accept any solution except the saving work of His son Jesus. The ancient Romans were great road builders. In the days of the great empire, there was a saying that all roads lead to Rome. Similarly, many people think that all religions lead to God. Not so! Jesus is the only way to God.
Some think that if you do your best you can get to Heaven. But good works or noble thoughts are not enough to pay for the guilt of sin. Only the death of Jesus on the cross and His resurrection gives us a chance for eternal life. Out of gratitude for God’s salvation, we can and should obey God in all things. We can live a holy life, fight the good fight of faith, forsake sin, love our neighbors and be thankful to God. Living in such a way leads to joy and fulfillment. He is the way maker!
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6 KJV)
